Berry Metal Company to Supply V-Max™ Burners for Sustainable, Next-Generation Steel Production
ZELENOPLE, PA – Berry Metal Company is pleased to announce it has been awarded an order to supply its advanced V-Max™ burner technology for a new rebar mini mill located in Northeast Arkansas. The project represents a significant investment in both steel manufacturing efficiency and environmental sustainability, aligning with the industry’s growing focus on reducing emissions while maintaining high productivity.
The new facility is designed to operate as a compact, low-emission, energy-efficient rebar mini mill, incorporating modern technologies that optimize production while minimizing environmental impact. A key feature of the project is its ability to utilize up to 100% renewable energy generated from an owner-constructed solar park, helping reduce the mill’s carbon footprint by an estimated 35% compared to conventional mini mills.
Berry Metal Company’s proven V-Max™ burners were selected for their ability to deliver superior combustion performance, efficient heat transfer, and precise flame control. The technology is designed to maximize thermal efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and provide the reliable heating performance required for demanding steelmaking operations.
The V-Max™ burner system is engineered to provide uniform furnace heating, optimize energy utilization, and support increased productivity while reducing operating costs. Its advanced design also contributes to lower maintenance requirements and improved equipment reliability over the long term, making it an ideal fit for modern steel production facilities focused on both performance and sustainability.
This award reflects Berry Metal Company’s continued commitment to delivering furnace and combustion technologies that help steelmakers improve efficiency, increase throughput, and achieve sustainability objectives. Since 1951, Berry Metal Company has partnered with steel producers worldwide to develop innovative solutions that drive operational performance and long-term value.
This project demonstrates the industry’s ongoing investment in technologies that reduce environmental impact while supporting the growing demand for domestically produced steel products. Through the integration of advanced V-Max™ burner technology, the facility will be positioned to achieve efficient, reliable, and lower-carbon steel production from day one.
