Position Title: Quality Inspector
FLSA: Exempt, Full-time
Reports to: Quality & EHS Manager
Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspections of machined and welded products. Using various inspection tools, the inspector ensures parts meet engineering drawings and standard acceptance criteria. The role supports production through timely in-process and final inspections, documenting results, and escalating issues to maintain product quality in line with the ISO-9001 quality assurance program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct in process and final inspections of manufactured items
- Complete and report inspection documentation, detailing acceptance, or rejection to the production team
- Document non-conformances and defeats and collaborate with production to resolve issue
- Oversee quality at vendor locations as necessary
- Provide guidance to employees when quality standards are not met
- Maintain organized and accurate quality control and inspection records for retention and traceability
- Participate in corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency
- Create and distribute customer quality certificates as needed
- Develop, update, and revise Work Instructions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Experience, Education and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 0-3 years of experience in a metals/steel manufacturing setting
- Experience with dimensional inspections and visual verifications of machined and welded components
- Proficiency with computers, email, Excel, Word, and Windows-based systems
- Skilled in using Micrometers, scales, squares, tape measures, thread gauges, weld gauges, ID/OD mics, and CMM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inspection documentation and quality records
- Ability to follow established inspection processes and procedures
- Reliability and attentiveness in performing daily tasks

- Will frequently sit at a desk, stand and walk for prolonged periods on concrete

- Will use specific vision abilities required by this job which include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
