Berry Metal recently delivered and installed their patented Post Combustion Technology in state-of-the-art facilities located in Germany, Austria and Turkey. Post Combustion equipment is also set to be delivered and installed at several other facilities located in Europe in the third quarter 2016.
Berry Metal continues to make advancements to optimize Post Combustion designs. Based on charge model analysis and furnace laser profiles, Post Combustion distributors are designed specifically for each BOF Shop. The result is a cost effective solution for minimizing Lance skulls and reducing furnace skulls in the cone and mouth areas, decreasing downtime and increasing metallic yield, and eliminating safety concerns relating to the manual deskulling of the Lances.
The proper Lance design operating within an optimal post combustion zone is critical to ensure off-gas combustion energy to allow a higher scrap charge, while avoiding furnace refractory damage.
